Starlight is a nonprofit organization that offers social and emotional support to children that are undergoing serious illness. They are currently advertising a role as a Creative Program Facilitator to use their creative talents to innovate and manage activities and workshops for young people.
This role is in conjunction with Starlight’s Livewire program which is aimed at aiding adolescent aged people coping with serious illness. The program helps these relieve some of the stress, anxiety and isolation these young people face. It is available both in a hospital setting and online.
Livewire helps to:
- Provide peer support that boosts teen’s confidence and self esteem
- Equip teenager to better manage stress, isolation and anxiety
- Make teens feel happier, accepted and more positive about their health condition
As a Livewire facilitator you will be able to use creative talents to create engaging, tailored and innovative activities and workshops for young people. You’ll help provide them with meaning, encourage them to connect with each other and you’ll leave participants with a sense of accomplishment. The teens you’ll be supporting come from different walks of life, are different ages and have varied cultural backgrounds and abilities.
You’ll also promote our online Livewire community to hospitalised teens, and contribute by sharing and creating content.
