Liverpool Hospital has recently launched a new initiative The Healing Hospital Arts Project – Creating Wellbeing Environments in collaboration with Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and South Western Sydney Local Health District.
The project aims to support the mental health of frontline healthcare workers and the walls of the Children’s Ward and the Mental Health Unit have become gallery spaces highlighting the work of six local artists.
Miriam Cabello, Resident Health and Arts Consultant and project lead , is responsible for introducing the curatorial and educational model that connects art with health. “Our aim is to be a leader in providing innovative art and healing programs that address mental health and wellbeing.”
